Rasmussen University is excited to announce plans to centralize Ocala operations at one location and expand the footprint of our Ocala School of Nursing campus.
Construction at the School of Nursing location is currently underway with it expected to be complete by April 2024. At that time, the Medical Assisting and Radiologic Technology programs will move from the Main campus to the newly expanded campus located at 1227 SW 17th Avenue. All academic and administrative operations will then be under one roof, and the centralized location will simply be known as the Rasmussen University Ocala campus.
“Rasmussen University has served Ocala, Marion County, and the surrounding region since 2007. We are proud of our longstanding history of meeting the healthcare needs of our community as a key healthcare education provider,” said Pete Beasley, senior campus executive director, Rasmussen University‒Ocala. “This consolidation of our two Ocala locations and expansion provide a great opportunity to serve all of our Ocala students under one roof and streamline our student support services.”
In addition to the existing Physical Therapy Assistant and Nursing Skills labs, the newly expanded campus will feature:
- New Radiologic Technology and Medical Assisting labs
- Nine new classrooms
- Larger, renovated student lounge
- New HVAC system
- Resurfaced and restriped parking lot with more than 40 new spots
Rasmussen University began offering its first Associate’s Degree in Nursing program in Ocala around 17 years ago. Today, the University is a national leader in nursing education. The University works with health systems nationwide to transform the relationship between nursing education and employment.
“Ocala and Marion County is home to the World Equestrian Center® and has some of the fastest growing retirement communities in central Florida,” says Beasley. “The campus renovations are designed to provide industry-standard laboratories where we can educate the next generation of healthcare professionals to help meet the growing demand throughout our region.”
The centralized Ocala campus will offer residential programs in the full pre-licensure nursing ladder (Practical Nursing Diploma, Associate’s and Bachelor of Science), as well as medical assisting, physical therapy assistance and radiologic technology.
Ocala’s Radiologic Technology program recently received an eight-year reaccreditation term from the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)—the maximum period granted by the accrediting body.1
Both campus locations will remain open and serve students through next March. The move to the expanded campus will occur during the March break, before the start of spring quarter in April 2024.

- Fort Myers campus in Florida was awarded initial accreditation in 2021 for a period of three years.
- Lake Elmo / Woodbury campus in Minnesota was granted reaccreditation in 2021 for a period of eight years.
- Ocala campus in Florida was granted reaccreditation in 2023 for a period of eight years.
