Rasmussen College Gives Back During 10th-Annual Community Service Day
About 700 employees to volunteer at local organizations nationwide
Minneapolis (July 17, 2018)–Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college and Public Benefit Corporation, will give back, in its yearly tradition, to its local communities on Friday, July 20 during its tenth annual Community Service Day.* About 700 employees from its 22 campuses and three central offices will participate in the national service day event. Through this annual effort, employees and staff will volunteer more than 2,100 hours in just one 24-hour period; helping communities across the country grow and thrive.
“Education is transformational and when you have the privilege to work in education, you have the opportunity to give back every single day. By taking a day off across all of our locations, it gives our employees an opportunity to give back according to the specific needs of their local communities, which is not only impactful to members of the community, but transformative to all of our employees, too,” said Dr. Trenda Boyum-Breen, president of Rasmussen College. “Rasmussen College has provided education and resources that extend beyond our students and employees and into our communities since 1900. We are committed to making our communities a better place to learn, grow and thrive.”
Campus and Central Office Participation
During this year’s Community Service Day, Rasmussen College employees will perform a variety of tasks, from working in hydroponic gardens to creating tie blankets for children and hosting community barbecues.
In Wisconsin, employees from the College’s two campuses will volunteer their time clearing trash from local roads and highways in the Green Bay area and at the Stable Hands Equine Therapy Center in Wausau.
Fargo-Moorhead
Employees from the Fargo and Moorhead campuses will host a community barbecue in conjunction with the Jeremiah Program, a nonprofit that helps transform families from poverty to prosperity.
